Projects/Bungalow renovation & extension
Bungalow renovation and extension.
A tired 1930s bungalow in an overgrown plot, taken back to the shell and turned into a modern home: brick extension, new roof, new render, new garden.

Same house, same spot.

The bungalow had been empty for a while. The render was blown and cracked, the roof was mossed over, the garage was attached to the house and the plot was waist-high in weeds. The owners wanted a modern open-plan home without losing the character of the original.
We cleared the site, dug footings and built a brick extension across the rear with a flat roof on engineered joists and a steel beam opening the old rooms into one kitchen-living space with sliding doors onto the garden. Inside, the house was stripped to the shell, re-floored, insulated, boarded and skimmed.
The old roof came off completely and was re-covered in red pantiles with new rafters where the extension ties in, rebuilt chimneys and new fascias and guttering. The original render was hacked off and the house re-rendered. Outside we laid the patio and lawn, built the parking area and fenced the plot.
How it was done
From derelict shell to finished home.
One team, one programme, start to finish.
